Plant Essentials
Light
Moderate to low light is ideal, semi shade.
Temperature
Average room temperature is good (16-24°C).
Water
Water weekly but do not soak, keep the soil moist. Mist the leaves daily or regularly.
Media
Use a commercial all-purpose potting soil. Grows equally well in Hydroculture.
Fertiliser
Apply weak (half strength) fertiliser twice a month in spring and summer. Do not fertiliser in autumn & winter as the plant is dormant.
Potting
Since they are mostly large floor plants, would need heavier containers (clay) with a good drainage. Repot the plant once a year.
Other Tips/ Info
A Commercial Fertiliser will work if it is diluated to half strength with water. If the leaves turn brown, donot throw the plant, cut off the brown part of the leaf. The plant will again become beautiful with proper watering. Mature plant can reach a height of 8 to 10 feet but can be controlled by pruning.
